First Nations Educational Steering Committee
The First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) was founded in 1992 by participants at a provincial First Nations education conference at the Vancouver Friendship Centre. That visionary group of people determined the need for a First Nations-controlled collective organization focused on advancing quality education for all First Nations learners, and they set out FNESC’s commitment to supporting First Nations in their efforts to improve the success of all First Nations students in BC.

The Indian Residential School Survivor Society (IRSSS) is a provincial organization with a twenty year history of providing services to Indian Residential School Survivors.
First Nations School Association
The FNSA represents and works on behalf of First Nations controlled schools in BC, and almost all of the 128 BC First Nations schools in 67 First Nations communities are members of the Association. The FNSA has a mandate to support those schools in creating effective, nurturing, and linguistically and culturally appropriate education environments that provide students with a positive foundation in all academic areas.

Restore the Okanagan language to its rightful place as the communicator of the culture, under the guidance of the Elders.

Okanagan Nation Alliance
The Okanagan Nation Alliance (ONA) was formed in 1981 as the inaugural First Nations government in the Okanagan which represents the 8 member communities including; Okanagan Indian Band, Upper Nicola Band, Westbank First Nation, Penticton Indian Band, Osoyoos Indian Band and Lower and Upper Similkameen Indian Bands and the Colville Confederated Tribes on areas of common concern. Each community is represented through the Chiefs Executive Council (CEC) by their Chief or Chairman.

A companion set of interactive online games is designed to present the archived FirstVoices language data in creative learning activities.
Some language archives at FirstVoices are publicly accessible, while others are password protected at the request of the language community.
