2018 Nooaitch Culture Camp

Each year, Culture Camps are provided in the local Aboriginal communities of the Merritt and Princeton areas. The local First Nations communities include Lower Nicola Band, Upper Nicola Band, Coldwater Band, Nooaitch Band, Shackan Band, Upper Similkameen Band and we also have the Nicola Valley Metis Association and Vermilion Forks Metis Association. These ‘all day’ sessions are hosted to enhance our staffs' evolving understanding of First Nations and Metis culture while being immersed in cultural learning opportunities the local Indigenous way on topics that include culture, language and history.
